GIG HARBOR, Wash. – Washington Water Service (Washington Water) reaffirmed its commitment to improving the communities it serves in 2017 by donating more than $13,000 to a local charitable organization and community group.

This year, the utility helped non-profits provide services to community members in need by donating to Homeless Backpacks, Inc., Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation, and the Tacoma Rainiers Baseball Club. The funds were donated as part of the utility's philanthropic giving program and not paid for by ratepayers.

"We are glad to partner with these important organizations, which provide such essential services to our community," said General Manager Scott Bailey. "Washington Water Service values being able to give back to help improve the quality of life in the communities we serve."
