Washington Water announced today that it has selected Matthew Brown to lead the utility as its General Manager. Brown, who has been with the utility for 20 years, has extensive hands-on knowledge of water infrastructure and distribution.
Brown has served as the Interim General Manager since July 2018 and is well-acquainted with the district’s water systems and members of the community. His previous Washington Water roles as a Utility Worker, Assistant Engineer, Project Engineer, and Engineering Manager provide him with the knowledge and experience to ensure the local water systems remain safe and reliable, according to Vice President, Corporate Development & Chief Regulatory Officer Paul Townsley. Brown holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering from Saint Martin’s University and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
“Matt’s strong technical background and familiarity with our Washington communities will serve residents and businesses well into the future,” said Townsley. “I am confident that he will ensure Washington Water continues to provide quality, service, and value to our customers, both for their everyday and emergency needs.”
