Washington Water is pleased to inform you that we have received approval from the Washington Department of Health and Pierce County for the construction of a new corrosion control treatment plant on the S&I water system. This project is the final phase of an ongoing water infrastructure upgrade that will improve water quality and reliability in your area. This work will begin in the upcoming months and last until fall.
Our contractors will be working Monday through Friday on 72nd Avenue NW, between 99th Street Court NW and 98th Street Court NW. Work will begin at 7:00 a.m. and is expected to be completed by 5:00 p.m. each day, barring any unforeseen issues.
During construction, you will see crews on site and work vehicles moving in and out of the area. Work vehicles and equipment will be parked along the roadway in the construction zone, and access may be restricted to one lane in some areas. While we will have traffic control in place to minimize any traffic impacts and keep motorists and workers safe, please plan for extra time when driving in the area and pay attention to where crews are working. We also encourage you to avoid the construction area when possible. You may hear noise due to the construction while crews are on site each day; however, we do not expect the noise to be particularly disruptive.
