Washington Water Service is a private, investor-owned utility company that is regulated by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC) in Olympia, Washington. UTC’s job is to protect customers and make sure that rates are fair, just, reasonable and adequate. Oversight by the UTC ensures that necessary improvements are made to the water system, that the system is operated efficiently, and that the company only earns a modest return on the funds it invests in water system infrastructure.
Customers can contact the UTC Consumer Help Line for assistance toll-free at (888) 333-WUTC (9882) or visit their web site at www.utc.wa.gov for additional information.
UTC also publishes a Consumer Guide for Utility Services. The guide provides assistance to customers who have questions about utility regulation and their water service.
